About the role
The Key Account Manager at Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW) is responsible for maintaining and building commercial relationships with key customers across various industries. This role requires a deep understanding of the market and strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Meet sales targets and deliver financial goals
- Assess business situations and technical requirements for each opportunity
- Maintain day-to-day relationships with customers and liaise with external vendors
- Advocate for products through marketing programs, publications, and campaigns
- Conduct comprehensive market research to align strategic growth initiatives
- Foster customer relationships to identify growth opportunities and forecast demand signals
- Interface with ITW Sexton commercial and production teams to minimize lead times and maximize customer satisfaction
- Champion ITW Core Values, Toolbox, and Leadership Development framework
- Show personal effectiveness and leadership skills that foster a culture of high performance
- Collect and synthesize data for reporting purposes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business field, or a bachelor's in chemistry/technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years of sales and marketing experience in a technical, business-to-business market
- Exposure within high-level retail environments is valuable
- Refrigerant industry or automotive aftermarket knowledge
- Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects quickly under deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a technical environment
- Strong customer focus skills in providing a tactical plan to achieve results
- Excellent product knowledge and ability to solve technical problems
