Junior IT Specialist

ECLARO's client operates one of the world's largest energy delivery systems, constantly at the forefront of innovations in developing technology. This role supports and enhances the PI Data Historian infrastructure for Electric and Gas Control Center operations.

About the role

Seeking a Junior AVEVA PI Administrator to support the architecture, administration, integration, and continuous improvement of a large-scale enterprise PI environment (1.5M+ PI tags) supporting critical operational systems. This position requires experience with AVEVA / OSIsoft PI System technologies, high-availability infrastructure, operational technology integrations, and enterprise analytics solutions. The role operates in a highly available 24x7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission PI Dashboards, BI reports, and bespoke applications using AVEVA / OSIsoft PI System Access technologies (PI SDK, AF SDK, PI OLEDB, PowerShell).
• Ensure high availability of all PI infrastructure supporting enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, identify root cause issues, and maintain physical and cyber safety.
• Integrate enterprise business systems with AVEVA / OSIsoft PI software.
• Support, maintain, architect, and develop PI Data Historian infrastructure for Distribution Electric, Gas, and Steam Control Centers.
• Configure, code, and test PI Data Historian components, including:
  • PI Data Archive HA & DR
  • PI AF HA & DR
  • PI Vision HA & DR
  • PI AF Element templates and AF Elements
  • PI-based dashboards (PI Vision / Process Book)
  • PI AF Analytics, PI Notifications, and PI Event Frames
  • PI Interfaces: PI API, OPC DA / UA, RDBMS, PI to PI, PI DNP3
  • PI Integrator for Business Analytics (PII4BA)
• Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving application issues.
• Respond to system alerts 24x7x365 on a scheduled basis to ensure application availability.
• Design and develop code for Control Center applications as required.
• Ensure continuous availability of the OSI PI Historian for Distribution Electric, Gas, and Steam Control Centers.
• Periodically review and update procedures and Disaster Recovery documents for PI Historian infrastructure and associated systems (OMS, SCADA).
• Apply ITIL processes and use tools like ServiceNow for support activities.
• Communicate effectively with sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.
• Report on project status, issues, key activities, and changes to project scope.
• Identify and communicate resource conflicts.
• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Requirements

• PI System Infrastructure and Developer Accreditation from AVEVA / OSIsoft.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to provide detailed documentation of end-to-end solutions.
