The 19th Judicial District is currently seeking applicants for a part-time Judicial Clerk I (.50 FTE) position for term-limited employment. The position is created to support specific operational needs and project‑based work and is expected to last approximately until 6/30/2027 though the actual end date may vary depending on business needs and available funding. Term limited contracts cannot exceed 24 months but are eligible for benefits. The required work schedule for this role is as follows: Monday: 12:30pm to 4:30pm; Tuesday: 7:30am to 4:30pm; and Thursday: 7:30am to 4:30pm. The 19th Judicial District is also recruiting for a part-time Judicial Clerk I (.20 FTE) position. This role provides limited scheduled hours on Fridays from 7:30am to 4:30pm and supports court operations within the district. Applicants may apply for this position independently or in conjunction with the .50 FTE posting. A typing test is required and a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute is preferred. Essential Functions
- Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
- Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, and distribution.
- Directs customers to appropriate services such as legal clinics, self-help information and specialists, Supreme Court and local libraries, the bar association, or family court facilitators.
- Maintains case documentation and updates case management system, including adding case information and documentation to case management system, updating case information, updating contact information, processing bond forfeitures, and entering transcript requests. Adheres to data integrity and timelines per applicable laws and regulations.
- Transfers information from law enforcement tickets or information filed into the case management system.
- Manages scheduling for time sensitive cases, such as cases requesting protection orders or other emergency matters. Ensures court-scheduled events and review dates are entered in every case.
- Receives and processes referring court records from the trial court. Maintains the referring court record server. Transmits records to litigants. Processes and returns records upon mandate.
- Accepts and processes payments via cash, check, and credit card for court fines, fees, filing fees, and bonds. Reconciles cash drawer and income daily and prepares the daily deposit.
- Responds to customer's inquiries via phone, email, and voice mail. Acts as liaison between division/Judicial Officer and customers, directs parties to correct location and/or divisions, de-escalates situations of stress or conflict, and explains court processes without providing legal advice.
- Trains within trial court/appellate court procedures.
- Issues orders and notices from the court, including orders regarding case deadlines, orders of extension of time, notices of new case filings, notices of oral argument, receipt of trial court records, and mandates returning authority to a trial court once case is complete. Ensures service to all necessary litigants and trial/appellate courts.
- Completes required trainings and attends meetings as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Equivalency: High school diploma or G.E.D.
