Jr. Technician

About the role

Aids technicians with maintenance and repairs of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges. Performs basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing. May assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance
• Clears system jams and performs shift inspections
• Performs electrical and mechanical adjustments
• Reads and interprets repair manuals and schematics
• Works in confined and elevated spaces with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection
• Follows company policies and procedures, completes training, and complies with ELS safety programs
• Completes work forms and takes safety training
• Performs additional duties as directed by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of mechanical experience, preferably in baggage handling systems or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous airport experience preferred
• Previous experience with conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges preferred
• Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
• Valid driver's license and insurability under company policy
• Compliance with ELS drug and alcohol policy
• Ability to work safely and promote a safe work environment
