Jr. Technician

About the role

Aids technicians in maintaining and repairing baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges. Assists with basic maintenance tasks, diagnoses equipment failures, and follows safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance
• Clear system jams, perform shift inspections, clean, and make electrical and mechanical adjustments
• Diagnose equipment failures under supervision and ensure safe operation
• Read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and supervisor instructions
• Work in confined spaces with appropriate personal protective equipment and fall protection
• Comply with company and federal policies, complete training, and follow safety programs
• Complete work forms and assignments according to procedures
• Perform additional duties as directed by management
• Assist technicians with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing
• Participate in safety training as assigned
• Follow ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures
• May perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of previous mechanical experience, or 1 year of previous baggage handling system or passenger boarding bridge experience, or pass a mechanical aptitude test
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Previous work experience in an airport environment
• Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges preferred
