Jr. Technician

About the role

Aids technicians with various maintenance and repair tasks on baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges. Assists with preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, and clears system jams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures under supervision
• Ensure equipment operates safely
• Read and interpret repair manuals and schematics
• Perform shift inspections, cleaning, and adjustments
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment and fall protection gear
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Complete forms and training as required
• Perform additional duties as directed
• Assist technicians with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing
• Complete safety training as assigned
• Comply with ELS safety programs and policies
• Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of mechanical experience, preferably in airport environments or baggage handling systems
• Previous experience with conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges preferred

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience
• Previous experience with baggage handling systems or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to work in tight and high spaces
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently
• Valid driver's license and insurability under the company's policy
• Pass ELS drug and alcohol policy
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to comply with ELS safety programs and policies
