Jr. Technician

About the role

Aids technicians in maintaining and repairing baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges. Assists with basic maintenance tasks, diagnoses equipment failures, and follows safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assists with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs
• Clears system jams, performs shift inspections, cleans, and makes electrical and mechanical adjustments
• Diagnoses equipment failures under guidance and ensures safe operation
• Reads and interprets repair manuals and supervisor instructions
• Works in confined spaces with appropriate personal protective equipment and fall protection
• Complies with company and federal policies, completes training, and maintains safety programs
• Performs additional duties as directed by management
• Assists technicians with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing
• Completes safety training and obtains an airport security badge
• Communicates clearly and completes assigned training

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of mechanical experience, preferably in baggage handling systems or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous mechanical experience
• Previous baggage handling or passenger boarding bridge experience
• Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
• Ability to work independently and follow company procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow safety guidelines

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work safely and promote a safe work environment
