About the role

Applies basic engineering fundamentals to perform engineering assignments while working under the direct supervision of an experienced Engineering Professional.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the design and development of Mechanical/Civil/Structural/Process/Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering packages
• Assists in the preparation of equipment specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for structural equipment and structures, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping items and other equipment / materials as required
• Assists in the design and development of field instrumentation and control systems
• Assists in the preparation of instrument equipment specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for field instruments, control valves, flow meters, PLC's, SCADA systems and other instrument equipment / materials as required
• Assists in the development of an instrument index, cause and effect charts, instrument location plans, loop drawings, wiring diagrams and other ladder diagrams
• Assists in the sizing and selection of control valves and pressure safety valves (PSV's)
• Reviews vendor documents
• Interfaces with instrument designers and liaise with other project disciplines
• Participates in factory acceptance testing and/or site visits
• Begins performing tasks using industry standards and other standard procedures and tools
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to Instrument/Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil/Structural Engineering
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High level of commitment to safety
• Highly motivated and positive attitude
• BSc, MSc or equivalent in electrical / chemical engineering / mechanical / civil / structural engineering is required
• 0 - 2 years of experience

Skills

• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
• Ability to use vendor software when sizing valves is preferred

Physical Requirements
