JR. ENGINEER
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Jr. Engineer to join our team at the Hopewell, NJ site. This is a contract, on‑site position in the Engineering category located in Hopewell, New Jersey, with potential for extension and/or conversion based on budget, performance, and business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily oversight and management of construction and maintenance contractors in compliance with facilities & engineering, manufacturing, EHS, and site security requirements. The individual will support cross‑functional capital and operational projects spanning manufacturing, facilities, and utilities, collaborating closely with internal and external teams to ensure work is completed within site Standard Operating Procedures. The role includes supporting the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as CapEx and OpEx projects.
Responsibilities
- Daily oversight, escorting, and safety onboarding of construction and maintenance contractors for work on process systems, utility systems, and building infrastructure.
- Monitor the progress of contractors and report progress to the project manager.
- Enforce company safety and security procedures, ensuring contractors adhere to all procedures including escorting, gowning, badging, safety forms, and high‑risk work permitting (hot work, lock‑out‑tag‑out, fall protection, confined space, etc.).
- Provide engineering project management and maintenance coordination support to project managers.
- Perform miscellaneous work related to projects, maintenance, or facilities as directed.
Requirements
- 1‑2 years of contractor oversight in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry.
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in an engineering‑related field.
- Ability to work in an office environment, construction site, utilities/maintenance areas, and laboratory or manufacturing areas.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
- Contractor oversight in construction and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements in construction projects or maintenance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings is preferred.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Schedule
Expected shifts/hours: 40 hours/week; onsite no later than 7 am – 3:00/3:30 pm (8 hours/day) Monday‑Friday. Overtime may be required as needed but is not a regular expectation.
