Entry/Junior level Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Our client is a very well established manufacturer of products for the expanding electric power industry. They have an immediate need for an entry/junior level manufacturing engineer to join their staff in Memphis. They would love someone bilingual Spanish/English but it is not mandatory. They will assist with relocation, but ideally for someone who is renting an apartment and would be an inexpensive relocation.

Responsibilities

• Support production processes and learn manufacturing systems
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives under close supervision
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard work instructions
• Support process troubleshooting on the production floor
• Collect and analyze basic production data (scrap, cycle time, downtime)
• Participate in Lean / Six Sigma projects (often as a team member)
• Help implement process improvements and cost reduction ideas
• Support tooling, fixtures, and equipment setup
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Work with operators and technicians to resolve day-to-day issues

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
• Introductory Lean concepts (5S, waste reduction)
• CAD exposure (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Excel / basic data analysis
