About the role
Jacobs has an immediate need for a Junior Level Business Development Coordinator aligned with our Northeast U.S. geography. This position will support a variety of core functions, primarily working with Business Development leadership to input and maintain data in internal reporting tools and systems. The secondary focus will be collaborating with both Business Development and Technical staff to produce strategically focused, professional-looking internal and external documents and marketing materials. This role offers the opportunity to learn and help implement sales strategy while gaining experience in critical sales functions.
The ideal candidate is organized, accountable, inquisitive, and demonstrates an ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while following through on commitments.
Responsibilities
- Searches for RFQs and RFPs on external digital eProcurement platforms, distributes them to internal stakeholders, manages and distributes subsequent addenda, and uploads electronic proposal documents back into the eProcurement platform.
- Enters and manages data in multiple tools and systems critical to sales processes and reporting requirements.
- Provides marketing support to the geographic sales team in collaboration with the corporate marketing team by interviewing staff to obtain information and drafting project win or new hire announcements for publication on LinkedIn, the Jacobs external website, and other platforms.
- Coordinates and develops sales documents such as Task Order proposals, including creating content, and interfaces with project managers, graphic designers, and desktop publishing support staff across multiple time zones to deliver content that meets schedule and delivery requirements.
- Uses curiosity and critical thinking skills to read complex documentation, synthesize data to understand the big picture, and determine next steps and who to engage to action an outcome.
- Proofreads and edits technical and non-technical documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Assists sales leadership with routine activities, including:
- Gathering information from staff and drafting internal reports, including collecting and analyzing sales statistics, and developing timelines, tables, graphs for reports, correspondence, and presentations.
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations.
- Preparing meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
- Setting up meetings in Microsoft Teams.
- Entering information into Microsoft Excel files.
- Assists client account managers and sales leads with preparing internal documentation, including:
- Project descriptions for sales use.
- Gathering and publishing client quotes.
- Updating project team members’ master resumes.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience, preferably in the Architectural, Engineering, or Construction industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and work under tight deadlines.
- Hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence two days a week at the Jacobs assigned office nearest you.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, or technical fields (preferred).
- Proficiency in Salesforce for data management (preferred).
- Fluency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications (preferred).

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
