About the role

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a highly motivated Journeyman NetOps Engineer. This position is located at MacDill AFB, FL and supports the Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSM-O II), Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for daily operations and maintenance of systems.
  • Effectively troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve technical problems to minimize system downtime.
  • Aid in preparing and maintaining technical documentation, drawings, and related artifacts.
  • Support implementation of routine updates, approved upgrades, and engineering or design changes.
  • Help to isolate and resolve technical issues and problems that impact multiple networks, systems, and devices.
  • Provide day-to-day operational routing and switching support with hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, etc.).
  • Assist with troubleshooting routing protocols and end-to-end network performance from the Local Area Network (LAN) through a Wide Area Network (WAN), to a Campus Area Network (CAN).
  • Willingness to cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization.
  • Support the system adherence to industry standards, DOD standards, DOD policies, DOD instructions, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices.
  • Utilize ticketing systems for detailed documentation of outages and network change activities.
  • Provide technical problem resolution for a wide range of network infrastructure problems or anomalies.
  • Support 24x7 Network Operations including 12 hour shifts as required.

Requirements

  • Current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.).
  • CCNA.

Qualifications

Education: HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience.

Skills

Willingness to cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization.
