Journeyman Software Engineer
We are looking for engineers to join our US Navy emerging technologies foundational software team. Responsibilities
- Create the planning setup, software structure, and development environment for future coding and defect resolution using an Agile process for a complex component of this weapon system.
- Set up structures for measuring computer processing time usage and develop better methods of disk space utilization, network loading, and throughput.
- Plan the future design environment for coding and maintenance of software support tools and models.
- Lead software design, coding, and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field with 4 years of experience, or a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge in definition and management of software requirements, design, code, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle, architecture, and documentation.
- Experience in an Agile software development environment and methodologies.
- Two years of program/project-level experience in software design and development meeting sub-millisecond timing requirements.
- Experience with Atlassian tool suites (Jira for issue tracking and Confluence for decision tracking) and source code tracking tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Familiarity with C++ or C# (preferred).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (must receive or be approved for an interim Secret security clearance to start).
- US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Ability to commute to Fredericksburg, VA or Dahlgren, VA (1 hour south of Washington DC).

Pay
$90,000 or higher depending on years of experience and additional degrees. The compensation range for this role is up to $110K.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, no weekend work.
- Occasional travel to Washington D.C. a couple of times a month.
