Systems Engineer, Journeyman

About the role

KAIROS, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join the Systems Engineering Department at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Pax River, MD. This position supports the PMA-273 (Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office) and provides engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE).

Responsibilities

• Supports the management of the T-6B Texan II - primary fixed-wing training aircraft.
• Monitors system performance, integration, and airworthiness.
• Coordinates with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.
• Contributes to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.

• Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Skills

• Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: Familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft.
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
