Journeyman NetOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Providing technical expertise for daily operations and maintenance of systems
• Effectively troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving technical problems to minimize system downtime
• Assisting with preparing and maintaining technical documentation, drawings and related artifacts
• Support implementation of routine updates, approved upgrades and engineering or design changes
• Help to isolate and resolve technical issues and problems that impact multiple networks, systems, and devices
• Providing day to day operational routing and switching support with hands on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
• Troubleshoot routing protocols and end-to-end network performance from the Local Area Network (LAN) through a Wide Area Network (WAN), to a Campus Area Network (CAN)
• Willingness to cross train and support multiple technologies in an operational environment including SATCOM, Voice, VDI/Virtualization
• Support the system adherence to industry standards, DOD standards, DOD policies, DOD instructions, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices
• Utilize ticketing systems for detailed documentation of outages and network change activities
• Provide technical problem resolution for a wide range of network infrastructure problems or anomalies

Required Experience/Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience
• Current DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
• CCNA Certification

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Active Secret clearance required
• This position will require a candidate open to Panama Day Shift work in a 24x7x365 environment including 12 hour shifts as required
