A full-time position located at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, supporting the Early Systems Engineering program (ESE). Limited travel may be required as needed.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical engineering
- Ability to integrate with other organizations and teams
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Experience working in secured environments
- Experience with STIGGING and vulnerability mitigation
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interface skills
Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system-level tests to assure subsystem and system performance meets approved specifications.
- Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure subsystem and system performance aligns with program specifications.
- Prepare technical documents defining, specifying, and recommending system/subsystem characteristics.
- Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using engineering economy principles.
- Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures.
- Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
- Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding, installation, and operations oversight.
- Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.
- Perform problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, “Set-based design” for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA), and cost versus capability trade-off analysis.
- Implement Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across the system lifecycle.
- Apply engineering expertise to systems and subsystems, including configuration management, data management, security, and other technical integration functions.
- Manage complex system interfaces, identify and document interfaces, and assure effective integration of multiple subsystems.
- Ensure system requirements meet user requirements; utilize user requirements to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate system concepts, perform assessments, and review system design.
- Perform and/or support capability analyses and COTS/GOTS evaluation, select components, and develop system interfaces to ensure compliance with DoD and commercially accepted standards and requirements.
- Construct models and simulations of systems to demonstrate the ability to meet user requirements.
- Conduct engineering performance, cost-effectiveness, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies; document findings in technical reports as directed by the task order.
- Provide aid or guidance as necessary in the accomplishment of other engineering tasks.
