Responsibilities

• Advise closely held companies and business owners on partnership agreements, tax issues, succession planning, and more.
• Represent individuals and businesses in audits and administrative actions relating to state and federal tax matters and collection efforts.
• Assist individuals with estate planning and probate matters.
• Co-chair the firm’s appellate practice and argue before the U.S. and Washington Supreme Courts and intermediate appellate courts.
• Develop and implement estate and succession plans for local businesses.
• Defend political organizations’ First Amendment rights and recover fees from government agencies.
• Challenged agency campaign finance regulation for exceeding its authority and argued on behalf of Washington’s major political parties before the U.S. Supreme Court.
• Successfully defended $57 million verdict against Washington State for breach of contract with home health care workers.

Requirements

Experience in tax and business law, appeals, and election law.

Qualifications

• LL.M. in Taxation from New York University
• J.D. from University of Washington School of Law
• B.A. from University of Washington, with honors
