About the role
Frog's Leap is seeking an experienced winemaker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality wine production and a strong background in viticulture and enology.
Responsibilities
- Lead the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle, ensuring compliance with organic and natural farming practices.
- Develop and implement new wine varietals and blends, maintaining the unique character of Frog's Leap wines.
- Collaborate with the vineyard team to manage vineyard operations, including pruning, harvesting, and pest management.
- Oversee the fermentation and aging processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to promote and market Frog's Leap wines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of winemaking experience, preferably in organic and/or biodynamic practices.
- Experience with organic and natural grape growing techniques.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and their impact on wine quality.
- Experience with organic and natural fermentation methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for the Finger Lakes region and its wine culture.
Skills
- Strong technical skills in winemaking and vineyard management.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
