Janitor - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is seeking a Janitor to join our team in Rumford, RI. Core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm. The hourly rate is $21.38 per hour plus a $0.60 per hour shift premium. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This position is at a unionized facility with a 60-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Perform various daily and monthly tasks based on a schedule, including completing daily check sheets.
• Remove snow and sand walks as required; water the lawn in spring and summer.
• Report troubles, hazards, or unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Maintain work areas, equipment, supplies, and tools in clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Uphold 5S standards throughout the facility and observe safety precautions and company rules.
• Production Area Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub floors (including using floor buffers), wipe down machinery, clean windows/partitions, and dust production equipment.
• Sanitation & Hygiene: Clean and restock restrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and sanitize high-touch surfaces like door handles and tools.
• Waste Management: Collect, sort (trash/recycling), and dispose of waste materials efficiently.
• Industrial Cleaning: Operate specialized equipment (floor scrubbers, power washers) and safely handle industrial cleaning agents/chemicals.
• Maintenance Support: Change light bulbs, clean air vents, report maintenance needs (e.g., plumbing/electrical issues), and perform minor repairs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a janitor or maintenance worker.
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR regulations.
• No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefits are offered; candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI (Active-Duty Military Service members exempt).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of industrial manufacturing experience.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Judgment and decision-making for janitorial duties.
• Ability to handle light materials, remove waste, and perform snow removal.

Pay

$21.38 per hour plus a $0.60 per hour shift premium.

Schedule

3 pm - 11 pm (2nd shift).
