JANITOR - 2ND SHIFT

Description

2nd shift hours: Monday-Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am, and every other Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed.
• Auxiliary in setting up and cleaning up after events or meetings.
• Perform special cleaning tasks as needed.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and elevator buttons.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facility manager.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
• Wear protective gear and follow protocols for handling cleaning chemicals.
• Report to work at the scheduled time, work as scheduled, and is seldom absent from work.

Requirements

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial services is a plus.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn how to handle and dispose of biohazardous waste/materials properly required.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move objects as needed.

Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands/Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing facility and occasionally seated in an office.
• May involve working under deadlines.
• Requires: broad range of physical and mental activities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

• The position involves time in an environment with extreme temperatures exceeding 100°F during summer months.
