J1 International Internship | F&B Front of House

Overview

The J-1 International Food & Beverage Front of House Intern participates in a structured training program designed to provide international hospitality students or recent graduates with hands-on experience in restaurant and guest service operations.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Assist front-of-house team members with daily restaurant operations, including hosting, service support, Room Service, & Banquet Operations
• Learn and practice proper steps of service to ensure a positive dining experience for guests
• Greet guests in a professional and welcoming manner and assist with seating and guest flow
• Support service staff by delivering food and beverages, resetting tables, and maintaining dining room cleanliness
• Learn point-of-sale systems, reservation platforms, and table management procedures
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and beverage offerings to assist guests when needed
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa (Hospitality Internship or Trainee Program)
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a hospitality, tourism, or related program
• Strong interest in hospitality and guest service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
