Job Description
The J-1 International Culinary Intern participates in a structured training program designed to provide international hospitality students or recent graduates with hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Aid chefs and culinary team members with daily food preparation and cooking tasks.
- Learn and execute menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support kitchen operations including prep work, plating, and service during busy meal periods.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and culinary development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality guest experience.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa (Culinary Internship or Trainee Program).
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a culinary or hospitality program.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
- Strong interest in learning and developing culinary skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
