About the role
Responsible for technical support to users. Provides ongoing support to the user community both onsite and remote, works in conjunction with other areas to diagnose and resolve issues, and participates in rotational 24x7 help-desk support.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and resolves hardware, software and operator problems; makes minor repairs or calls vendors to supply the products and/or service necessary to support the user.
- Installs new PCs with necessary software for the users or upgrades existing computers and/or software.
- Interacts with vendors on the subject of computer equipment for service and repair and tracks status of equipment being serviced.
- Handles set-up and disconnect of IT equipment for intra-office moves.
- Provides basic systems training to new users.
- Ensures confidentiality and data integrity at all times while working on systems.
- Has a working knowledge of CCTV systems and implementation.
- Has a working knowledge of telephone systems and troubleshooting.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree with additional certifications or BS degree in Information Technology.
- Position requires between 2-3 years of PC experience.
- Work requires the application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents used in combination. Frequently, the application of multiple, technical activities are employed; thus, analytic ability and inductive thinking are required.
- Ability to lift, carry, move computer equipment (i.e., monitors, printers, CPU's etc) on a daily basis, at times requires walking, reaching, bending and crawling into tight spaces.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
