IT Support Technician I
The IT Support Technician I serves as the first point of contact for employees requiring technical assistance. This role focuses on end-user support, computer deployments, troubleshooting common technology issues, and maintaining IT equipment. The position supports office, warehouse, production, and farm operations while learning Kreher Family Farms’ technical environment and business systems.
Responsibilities
- Respond to helpdesk tickets, phone calls, emails, and walk-up support requests.
- Troubleshoot Windows desktop and laptop issues.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Office.
- Assist users with password resets and account access issues.
- Configure email and mobile devices.
- Provide printer, scanner, and peripheral support.
- Set up and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Install standard software packages and apply basic configuration settings.
- Configure user workstations, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals.
- Assist with equipment moves, replacements, and workstation cleanups.
- Maintain accurate helpdesk ticket records and troubleshooting notes.
- Document common support procedures and repeatable fixes.
- Update IT asset inventory and equipment assignment records.
- Record hardware changes, software installs, and device replacements.
- Troubleshoot basic workstation network connectivity issues.
- Identify and properly escalate server, network, application, and security issues.
- Assist senior IT staff with maintenance activities, technology rollouts, and facility support.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong customer service, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to travel between company locations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, with 1–2 years of relevant experience supporting end users in a business, warehouse, production, or agricultural environment.
- Preferred: Associate degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Preferred: CompTIA A+ certification.
- Preferred: Experience supporting users in a business, warehouse, production, or agricultural environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment but may regularly visit other farm areas, including animal facilities, processing areas, crop fields, warehouses, shops, and other operational areas.

- Move throughout the workplace and farm property as needed.
- See, talk, and hear.
- May occasionally walk on uneven, wet, muddy, or outdoor terrain; climb stairs; and navigate around agricultural equipment, vehicles, animals, and other operational equipment.
- May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- May drive or ride in a vehicle for multiple hours at a time.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional work in farm or operational settings. In those settings, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, noise, odors, agricultural chemicals, machinery, animals, and other typical farm conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required. The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
