About the Role
The Operating Systems Support Section provides Windows support to SwRI administrative cost centers and technical divisions as needed. The section manages VMWare, Windows configuration, and endpoint management in an enterprise environment, including on-premise, virtualized, and Azure cloud infrastructure.
Objectives
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, and configuration management in an enterprise environment.
- Provision, manage, and troubleshoot Windows server technologies.
- Monitor and maintain servers and infrastructure across on-premise, VMWare, and Azure cloud environments.
- Install and support third-party business applications on Windows servers.
- Maintain Microsoft Windows and configuration management using SCCM, Config Manager, and other tools.
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing Microsoft Windows technologies and third-party Windows applications, including file sharing, Distributed File System, IIS web technologies, Print Services Management, and other Windows server services.
- Build and maintain Microsoft Windows servers and hardware on-premise, in virtual environments, and in Azure cloud.
- Monitor and maintain configuration management using SCCM, Configuration Manager, Intune, and other tools.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation using tools like Qualys and other inventory management tools.
- Monitor and configure MS SQL servers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field with relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of experience, a high school education or equivalent, and technical certifications such as Azure Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Expert (MCSE) are required.
- 3 years of Microsoft Windows Server administration in a physical and virtual, secure enterprise environment.
- 2 years of experience installing and supporting third-party applications on Windows servers.
- 1 year of experience with configuration management tools such as SCCM, Intune, and Patch Manager.
- 1 year of Microsoft SQL server experience (a plus).
- A valid/clear driver’s license is required.
