About the role

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an IT Specialist to support a government organization focused on enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, and systems modernization. This position is on-site in Crane, IN or Arlington, VA. The IT Specialist will provide advanced systems administration, network engineering, and Tier III support for mission-critical environments while helping maintain the security, performance, and reliability of enterprise IT systems. Responsibilities

• Perform advanced installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT systems and network infrastructure.
• Design and oversee system upgrades, network enhancements, and new technology deployments while ensuring operational continuity.
• Provide Tier III support for networking technologies, including IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and storage networking environments.
• Monitor, optimize, and maintain enterprise network performance across complex IT environments.
• Support infrastructure modernization initiatives utilizing technologies such as IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT.

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT experience with a networking focus; 10+ years preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise network environments utilizing IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and routing technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, systems integration, and Tier III engineering experience within large-scale IT environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active Secret (for Crane, IN) or Top Secret (for Arlington, VA) Clearance.
• Current IAT II (for Crane, IN) or IAT III Certification (for Arlington, VA).
• CCNA required; CCNP preferred.
• Microsoft certification preferred; waiver consideration available based on experience.

Pay

• Salary Range: $95,000–110,000 depending on experience
