IT Server & Cloud Computing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and participate on implementation teams deploying new systems and operational processes in accordance with strategic business initiatives and approved projects
• Aid in the development of detailed implementation and contingency plans
• Continuously improve current state by employing performance tuning activities while monitoring, and troubleshooting problems that may arise
• Provide technical expertise and server administration and support for daily operations for both on-premise and cloud systems
• Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and solutions
• Leverage relationships with external service providers to achieve results driving operational excellence
• Participate in the research and evaluation of new enterprise technologies, processes, upgrades to platform infrastructure solutions and enhancements
• Participate in the strategy, management and governance of business process and operations with the implementation of infrastructure services
• Create and maintain documentation of compute services design and specifications for engineer reference and training fellow team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• Established technical knowledge and 4+ years of hands on experience in either Windows or Linux Server administration, both a plus (Red Hat Linux a plus)
• Technical understanding of hyperconverged solutions
• Technical knowledge or hands on experience with Active Directory, ADFS, SCCM, VMWare, Cisco UCS, Veeam, and Red Hat Satellite Server
• Experience working with multi cloud enterprises environments and understanding of capabilities and service cost structures of major providers (Azure and AWS)

Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000 annually.
