IT Senior Enterprise Architect (Hybrid)
About the role
The IT Senior Enterprise Architect (Hybrid) will lead the development of business-aligned strategies that transform the capabilities of the enterprise and guide its evolution to leverage these capabilities. This role will support the Electric Transmission business area and will work across application and technology silos to provide 'big picture' leadership and direction to the supporting application and technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the strategic roadmap for a complex ecosystem that spans all areas of IT, ensuring coordination across different application and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure IT solutions align with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards.
- Work with other team members and other architect teams to educate and communicate EA practices.
- Deliver technical solutions with both client-side and server-side functionality, working with internal and external customers to define new features.
- Work with vendors to deliver technical solutions and communicate technical solutions to executive-level roles in terms of business outcomes and IT objectives.
- Ensure the solution infrastructure is supportable and can be smoothly transitioned into production support organizations.
- Provide cross-domain technical consultation services throughout the life of delivered projects, assisting with complex troubleshooting and coordinating domain experts to solve problems involving cross-domain issues.
- Create solution architecture documentation throughout the project lifecycle of the solutions.
- Understand the Electric Transmission business area.
Requirements
Essential functions include:
- Leading the development of enterprise architecture deliverables, including reference architectures, application guidelines, and metrics.
- Being a subject matter expert for the EA tool set and enterprise governance processes.
- Staying updated on and exploring the latest relevant technologies to design and implement infrastructure for innovative IT solutions and new user experiences.
- Ensuring IT solutions fit with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards.
- Working with other team members and other architect teams to educate and communicate EA practices.
- Working with other team members to deliver technical solutions with both client-side and server-side functionality.
- Working with internal and external customers to define new features.
- Working with vendors as required to deliver technical solutions.
- Communicating technical solutions to executive-level roles in terms of business outcomes and meeting IT objectives.
- Ensuring the solution infrastructure is supportable and can be smoothly transitioned into production support organizations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of business and technical experience with at least 2 years in senior level roles related to broad or multiple areas of application, technology, or infrastructure architecture.
- Extensive experience with infrastructure and technology (cloud and on-premise), business application technical design and implementation, and Enterprise Architecture goals and objectives.
- Extensive knowledge of systems development methodologies and systems integration methodologies.
- Proven experience architecting Disaster recovery solutions and resiliency hosting platforms for business solutions.
- Experience with architecture frameworks, processes such as TOGAF and ITIL processes such as Release, Change, Capacity, and Availability.
- Application Portfolio Management, Technology Portfolio Management is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Electric and Gas utility industry a plus, specifically the Electric Transmission business.

Schedule
This role is offered on a hybrid schedule. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work, and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
