About the role
The IT Senior Enterprise Architect (Hybrid) position is responsible for leading the development of business-aligned strategies that transform the capabilities of the enterprise and guiding its evolution to leverage these capabilities. This role will support the Electric Transmission business area and work across application and technology silos to ensure a cohesive ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the strategic roadmap for a complex ecosystem that spans all areas of IT.
- Provide direction and governance processes over the development, evolution, and delivery of enterprise outcomes.
- Work with application and technology teams to ensure alignment and coordination across all silos.
- Ensure IT solutions align with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the business solution, ensuring resilience and adaptability.
- Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive resiliency, disaster recovery, and performance solutions.
- Lead the analysis and design of technical solutions to support the business solution.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to define new features and requirements.
- Work with vendors to deliver technical solutions and communicate these solutions to executive-level roles.
- Ensure the solution infrastructure is supportable and can be smoothly transitioned into production support organizations.
- Provide cross-domain technical consultation services and assist with complex troubleshooting.
- Create solution architecture documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Essential functions include:
- Leading the development of enterprise architecture deliverables, including reference architectures, application guidelines, and metrics.
- Being a subject matter expert for the EA tool set and enterprise governance processes.
- Staying updated on relevant technologies and designing and implementing infrastructure to support innovative IT solutions.
- Ensuring IT solutions fit with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards.
- Working with other team members and other architect teams to educate and communicate EA practices.
- Working with internal and external customers to define new features and requirements.
- Working with vendors to deliver technical solutions and communicate these solutions to executive-level roles.
- Communicating technical solutions to executive level roles in terms of business outcomes and meeting IT objectives.
- Ensuring the solution infrastructure is supportable and can be smoothly transitioned into production support organizations.
- Providing cross-domain technical consultation services and assisting with complex troubleshooting.
- Creating solution architecture documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Understanding the Electric Transmission business area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of business and technical experience with at least 2 years in senior level roles related to broad or multiple areas of application, technology, or infrastructure architecture.
- Extensive experience with infrastructure and technology (cloud and on-premise), business application technical design and implementation, and Enterprise Architecture goals and objectives.
- Proven experience architecting Disaster recovery solutions and resiliency hosting platforms for business solutions.
- Experience with architecture frameworks, processes such as TOGAF and ITIL processes such as Release, Change, Capacity, and Availability.
- Application Portfolio Management, Technology Portfolio Management is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Electric and Gas utility industry a plus, specifically the Electric Transmission business.
