About the role

Maintain, modify, install, and support network and data center systems. Troubleshoot LAN and WAN networks, including firewalls, switches, and routers. Design and configure new network segments, document, label, and collect knowledgebase of network design, and install and configure hardware. Perform network monitoring to ensure security, availability, and uptime. Respond to all security events and alarms from security monitoring systems. Provide recommendations for improved network infrastructure. Support disaster recovery initiatives and maintain relevant documentation and configuration backups. Manage IT projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot LAN and WAN networks, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Design and configure new network segments, document, label, and collect knowledgebase of network design.
  • Install and configure hardware.
  • Perform network monitoring to ensure security, availability, and uptime.
  • Respond to all security events and alarms from security monitoring systems.
  • Provide recommendations for improved network infrastructure.
  • Support disaster recovery initiatives and maintain relevant documentation and configuration backups.
  • Manage IT projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Aptitude for troubleshooting problems to resolution and attention to detail.
  • Advanced PC, server, and network knowledge, including componentry, interfaces, and peripherals, such as printers, scanners, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced networking knowledge including CLI, Routing, NAT, and Firewall Rules.
  • Knowledge of Windows networks, domain structure, group policy, and Active Directory environments.
  • Knowledge of all Windows operating systems particularly Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of network components and protocols and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity problems.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and protocols as related to information technology.
  • Office 365 knowledge including, but not limited to, Azure, Exchange, and Administration.
  • Computer Networking - minimum 5 years of experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with Virtualization.
  • Experience with Firewalls and Routers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure components, including both Azure Cloud Hosting and Azure Active Directory.
  • Certifications in relevant areas (Security, Server Administration, Network Support).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
  • 6-10 years' experience in network, server, and data center administration.
  • Experience supporting database systems.
