IT Network Administrator
Responsibilities
- Configuration & Deployment: Set up, configure, and install Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points (APs) in alignment with company standards.
- Maintenance & Monitoring: Monitor network performance, traffic, and alerts using network management tools to ensure maximum uptime and preemptive troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve localized and wide-area network performance and connectivity issues (LAN/WAN).
- Security & Compliance: Assist in implementing network security policies, manage Access Control Lists (ACLs), and apply regular firmware/IOS updates and security patches.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate topology diagrams, IP addressing schemas, configuration backups, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaboration: Work alongside senior network engineers on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and cloud connectivity initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a dedicated network administration or robust helpdesk/desktop support role with networking responsibilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Experience configuring routing protocols (such as OSPF or EIGRP) and switching concepts (STP, EtherChannel). Familiarity with network security fundamentals (Firewalls, VPNs, NAT).
- Tools: Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly preferred or actively being pursued.
