IT Director - Infrastructure & Network Operations

About the role

The Infrastructure and Network Operations Director at Costco Wholesale is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of infrastructure and networking technology in all Costco locations. This role involves developing and executing strategies to ensure service reliability, security, and scalability, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying current with emerging technologies to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation and management of infrastructure and networking technology in all Costco locations.
• Develop and execute strategies to ensure service reliability, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals.
• Manage vendor relationships and stay current with emerging technologies.
• Communicate and model the values and guiding principles of Costco’s company culture.
• Lead by example, handle employee concerns, and follow through to resolution.
• Provide an exceptional member experience.
• Ensure proper department coverage, understand department budget, and research and explain budget variances.
• Coach and mentor employees to provide support and guidance.
• Conduct regular open and honest conversations with employees to discuss work performance and career development.
• Create and manage budgets.
• Work under pressure and in a crisis situation.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Respond to issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and avoid escalation.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in a technology leadership position with a proven track record of implementing large scale infrastructure projects, managing multiple cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, server, storage, and virtualization technologies.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategies relating to implementation, delivery, and support of enterprise networks and services.
• Experience in routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, industrial networking technologies in modern infrastructures.
• Able to work under pressure and in a crisis situation.
• Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.
• Excellent writing and oral communications skills.
• Experience creating and managing budgets.
• Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented with excellent work ethic.

Pay

$160,000 - $230,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible.

Schedule

This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).
