IT Deployment Specialist

We’re hiring an IT Deployment Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO to support technology deployments, acquisitions, and field operations across the organization.
About the role
This position is heavily travel-based and serves as a key member of the IT Deployment team. You’ll perform facility scanning, support network cutovers, install and validate IT infrastructure, and respond to critical field requests nationwide. This role requires a hands-on individual comfortable working in dynamic environments, traveling extensively, and ensuring new locations are operational with minimal business disruption.
Responsibilities
- Perform 3D facility scanning using specialized mapping equipment to capture building layouts for network and architectural design.
- Wear and operate a 15-pound scanning harness for extended periods while walking and documenting facilities.
- Verify scan accuracy and upload collected data for engineering and architectural teams.
- Assist with acquisition and new site go-live activities.
- Coordinate and execute network cutovers from legacy infrastructure to new environments.
- Install, configure, and validate networking equipment including switches, routers, wireless access points, and supporting hardware.
- Install, troubleshoot, and verify operation of:
- Workstations, printers, and POS systems
- Security cameras and access control systems
- Work alongside Network Engineering, IT Support, and Project Management teams to ensure successful deployments.
- Perform testing to validate internet connectivity, network functionality, wireless coverage, and peripheral operation before site turnover.
- Respond to urgent nationwide deployment requests and special projects as the designated field resource.
- Travel independently to branch locations, acquisitions, and construction sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, issues, and completed work.
- Follow company safety procedures while working in warehouses, construction sites, and office environments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
- At least 2+ years of experience in IT support, field services, deployment, networking, or related technical roles.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the previous three years.
- Ability to wear and operate a 15-pound scanning harness for extended periods while walking through facilities.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in active business or construction environments.
- Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Operate company vehicles safely while traveling to locations throughout the country.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of:
- TCP/IP networking
- Routers and switches
- Wireless networking
- Network cabling
- POS systems and peripheral devices
- Experience troubleshooting Windows-based hardware and common IT peripherals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Comfortable using ladders and working in various business environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or multi-site technology deployments.
- Experience performing network installations or cutovers.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards.
- Experience with enterprise wireless deployments.
- Experience with facility scanning or surveying technology.
- Class E driver's license (preferred but not required).
- CompTIA Network+, A+, or similar industry certifications.
Travel Requirements
- This position requires extensive nationwide travel.
- Frequent overnight travel should be expected.
- Travel may exceed 75% depending on business needs.
