About the role

Assists customers and resolves complex issues with minimal business disruption. Develops and manages customer support policies, procedures, and performance requirements. Leads rapid response teams in response to customer service problems resulting from catastrophic events.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve a complete range of problems within the scope of the activity operations and refer operational problems
  • Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive database of technical and corresponding resolutions
  • Evaluate and report on new tools and trends in the customer support field
  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of customer support services

  • This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance (Secret/Non-Critical Sensitive) as a condition of employment; failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination
  • Subject to completing DoD 8140 Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months
  • Subject to initial and random drug testing
  • This is a Mission Essential Position; incumbent may be subject to varying work shifts and shift rotations for 7-day, 24-hour mission support
  • Some travel may be required per Joint Travel Regulations

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Attention to Detail: Experience reviewing your own information technology-related work or data and being asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
  • Customer Service: Experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current IT needs of customers, and developing or identifying IT products and services tailored to meet customer needs
  • Oral Communication: Briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of IT systems, projects, or daily operations, including communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Problem Solving: Identifying alternatives to address complex IT-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide potential solutions

Qualifying Experience (GG-12): At least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service, defined as: Experience accessing information technology (IT) policies, developing IT policy for application in an organization; applying project management and financial management principles; briefing leadership on financial and operational recommendations to increase efficiency.

Additional information

  • This position is in the Excepted Service under the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system and does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment
  • May be required to serve a 3-year probationary period
  • Management has the prerogative to select at either grade level
  • Telework availability based on mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • Subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements under DoD Manual 8140
  • Designated as "Mission Essential" — incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate within the U.S. during local/national emergency
  • Subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management
