About the role
This position is in the DISA Cyber Sec Division/Cyber Sec Ops Br, within the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) at the Full Performance Work Level. It supports the mission of US Cyber Command.
Responsibilities
- Assists customers and resolves complex issues with minimal business disruption.
- Develops and manages customer support policies, procedures, and performance requirements.
- Leads rapid response teams in response to customer service problems resulting from catastrophic events.
- Analyzes and resolves a complete range of problems within the scope of activity operations and refers operational problems as needed.
- Develops, updates, and maintains a comprehensive database of technical issues and corresponding resolutions.
- Evaluates and reports on new tools and trends in the customer support field.
- Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of customer support services.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This position requires a Secret/Non-Critical Sensitive (S/NCS) security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Subject to completing DoD 8140 Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- May be subject to initial and random drug testing.
- This is a Mission Essential Position; incumbent may be required to report or relocate during local/national emergencies.
- May be subject to varying work shifts and shift rotations for 7-day/24-hour mission support.
- Some travel may be required per Joint Travel Regulations.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Attention to Detail: Experience reviewing your own IT-related work or data and reviewing others' work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
- Customer Service: Experience maintaining customer relationships, assessing current IT needs, and developing or identifying IT products and services tailored to meet those needs.
- Oral Communication: Briefing mid-level management and IT staff on IT systems, projects, or daily operations, including communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Identifying alternatives to address complex IT issues by gathering and applying information from multiple sources.
Qualifying Experience (GG-12): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service, defined as: Experience accessing IT policies and developing IT policy for organizational application; applying project management and financial management principles; briefing leadership on financial and operational recommendations to increase efficiency.
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level.
