IT Customer Experience Summer Internship - Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid)

About the Role

Selective Insurance's Ignite Internship Program is an 11-week, full-time experience at our corporate office in Short Hills, NJ, offering a sneak peek into the world of insurance. Interns gain on-the-job assignments, team projects, exposure to senior leadership, and a community volunteer day. The Customer Experience & Mobility team is responsible for continuous improvement of the MySelective mobile app/website, Voice of the Customer, and Proactive Communications program, while also driving, tracking, and measuring adoption, utilization, and financial impact of digital services. This team works in depth with IT, Business Services, Marketing, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support application solutions, providing production support and managing application operations
• Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including tools, databases, and end-user computing services
• Actively manage and monitor cybersecurity tools and systems, identifying and escalating security risks
• Ensure adherence to IT standards and best practices
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly to support business processes and resolve issues
• Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to complete an Action Learning Project

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field (rising juniors and seniors preferred)
• Take ownership over work, self-motivated, and able to execute on delegated tasks
• Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry
• High School Diploma required
• Ideal candidates are full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors with ability to perform at a professional level

Pay

USD $25.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position; applicants must be within commuting distance of Short Hills, NJ. The internship is an 11-week, full-time summer program for 2027.
