Job Summary

The Sr. IT Business Systems Analyst drives initiatives across the Business Function, leveraging business expertise and collaboration with partners to implement positive change. They envision solutions that follow good data design and create insightful data visualizations to drive impactful business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead solutions through the system's life cycle, from inception to go-live and beyond.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs and deliver creative solutions.
  • Deliver functional and technical requirements to development teams.
  • Advise decision-makers by providing insightful data visualizations and reporting to drive impactful business decisions.
  • Lead projects in consultation with IT Security, Infrastructure Team, Business Owners, and Vendors, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Influence the future of business systems while engaging in System/Product selection & evaluation.
  • Define scope and strategy of quality assurance to keep business systems current and reliable.
  • Manage operational activities on projects and enhancements, including monitoring resource needs, preparing documentation, status reports, key issues, and change controls.
  • Analyze the overall health of business systems at CF through system issue tracking and cross-functional alignment.
  • Establish and implement processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements.
  • Ensure established processes/procedures are followed as designed, and identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures, the need for new ones, and the extent to which such processes/procedures are being followed.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions regarding department internal controls as necessary.

Attributes

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering) or equivalent in a related field is typically preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of related professional work experience may be preferred to complete all essential job functions.
  • Self-starter with the capability of communicating effectively with leadership across the enterprise.
  • Experience of and participation in the change process, attending change boards as a representative.
  • Knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations specifically with Osisoft/Aveva PI System (PI Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Universal File Loader), intermediate knowledge of .Net C# and basic understanding of material balancing.
  • Partnership with the business to determine strategy and user requirements for PI data resources, Asset Performance Management, and drawing/document management information systems.
  • Consults, advises, and designs data architecture solutions using PI system.
  • Maintains policies and procedures for all matters relating to corporate/site PI data resources and their effective use, security, and control.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Azure DevOps, and Project Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing, refining, or power generation facility is a plus.
  • Business test planning/coordination experience.
  • Extensive current technology knowledge and experience.
  • Works with department managers and project leaders to provide transition guidance from high-level concepts to implementation strategies.
  • Manages assigned projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with organization and time management skills.

Position Scope/Contribution

Communications and Interpersonal Skills: Regularly communicates both in writing and verbally. Puts forth unique ideas and thoughts and communicates with internal and external customers related to a work function. May communicate with others in addition to customers. Information exchanged generally requires basic knowledge. High levels of influence and persuasion are required.

Complexity: Generally, applies theoretical knowledge of the functional discipline to understand and handle routine challenges or problems. Works within established procedures to handle routine matters specific to the job and function.

Decision Making Authority: Decisions are governed by established policies and procedures within normal job duties based on prior similar situations and precedents. Seeks guidance and decision-making from Director or lead for exceptions.

Financial Accountability: Decisions made may impact profit or loss, however decisions are governed by organizational policies and not personal independent actions.

Strategic Influence: Does not impact strategic and operational planning and execution.

The estimated base pay for the position is typically between $99,500 - 139,900. The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
