IT Business Systems Analyst

The Sr. IT Business Systems Analyst drives initiatives of all sizes across the Business Function. You are a self-starting individual with an aptitude for creative and critical thinking, using your business expertise to collaborate with partners and implement positive change. You envision solutions that follow good data design and create insightful data visualizations to drive impactful business decisions. You balance tradeoffs between development time, usability, and performance needs, and collaborate cross-functionally with business and IT peers to nurture positive, professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead solutions through the system's life cycle from inception to go-live and beyond.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs and deliver creative solutions.
• Deliver functional and technical requirements to development teams.
• Advise decision-makers by providing insightful data visualizations and reporting to drive impactful business decisions.
• Lead projects in consultation with IT Security, Infrastructure Team, Business Owners, and Vendors, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with Project Management methodology, with clear and frequent communication of status.
• Influence the future of business systems by engaging in system/product selection and evaluation.
• Define scope and strategy for quality assurance to maintain current and reliable business systems.
• Manage operational activities on projects and enhancements, including monitoring resource needs, preparing documentation, status reports, and change controls.
• Analyze the overall health of business systems through system issue tracking and cross-functional alignment.

Internal Controls

• Establish and implement processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements.
• Ensure established processes/procedures are followed as designed.
• Work with the Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies, recommend new processes, and assess compliance.
• Develop and implement corrective actions regarding department internal controls as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of related professional work experience.
• Self-starter with strong communication skills for leadership across the enterprise.
• Experience participating in change processes, including attending change boards as a representative.
• Knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations, specifically with Osisoft/Aveva PI System (PI Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Universal File Loader), intermediate knowledge of .Net C#, and basic understanding of material balancing.
• In partnership with the business, determine strategy and user requirements for PI data resources, Asset Performance Management (GE APM, UptimeAI), and drawing/document management systems with third-party suppliers.
• Consult, advise, and design data architecture solutions using the PI system.
• Lead a large group of stakeholders to improve an in-house material balancing solution based on the Osisoft/Aveva PI system.
• Maintain policies and procedures for corporate/site PI data resources, including security and control.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Azure DevOps, and Project Management.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or power generation is a plus.
• Business test planning/coordination experience.
• Extensive current technology knowledge and experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong organization and time management.
• Ability to learn, demonstrate, and apply business knowledge to align IT services with business goals.

Pay

The estimated base pay for the position is typically between $99,500 and $139,900. The actual base pay may vary based on factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role.
