About the role

The Business Analyst - IT serves as a liaison at a project level through which requirements flow between the internal customer community, IT development teams, and end customers. You will work with application and project teams to gather, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for enhancements to applications—both internally developed and purchased software systems. The role focuses on ITIL approaches to service and knowledge management within Mayo's Information Technology and Information Services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully defined according to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management processes.
  • Facilitate meetings, document requirements, and support development, testing, communication, education, implementation, and ongoing support for application and quality improvement projects.
  • Provide change management and governance recommendations for application releases and review testing plans to ensure requirements are met for customer acceptance.
  • Participate in cross-departmental efforts to advance the Business Analysis role.
  • Help project teams understand Business Analysis processes and tools.
  • Utilize methods and tools such as user interviews, document analysis, system analysis, surveys, site visits, use cases, storyboarding, and workflow analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience with Azure DevOps for managing User Stories.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident, request, and change request ticket management.
  • Preferred familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, specifically Google BigQuery, for data analytics solutions.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency in managing interpersonal relationships, negotiation, and big-picture thinking.
  • Ability to listen to and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to describe work and build products effectively.
  • Experience with ITIL-based Service Management tools.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • High School / GED and 4 years of Business Analyst training/certification and experience, or
  • An Associate's degree and 2 years of Business Analyst experience, or
  • A Bachelor's degree.
