Investment & Corporate Banking – Energy - Oil & Gas, Analyst (Houston, TX)

The Energy Group is seeking a Houston-based, qualified, motivated investment banking Analyst. Prior investment banking or similar professional experience within the upstream, midstream and/or downstream oil and gas industry is required; some technical upstream experience is preferred. As a cross-product industry team, Analyst in the Oil & Gas Group work on a variety of transactions, including M&A, A&D, corporate valuation, board advisory and capital raises. Analyst typically function as members of deal teams comprising a Managing Director, Director - Vice President, Associate, and Financial Analyst, plus technical professionals. Analysts are assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities, some of which include: Conduct extensive quantitative economic, industry and company research and analysisConduct and model a broad range of corporate finance alternatives and due diligence for client transactions including M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structure development, acquisition finance and syndicated loan and capital market financingEvaluate risk/return parameters of financing transactionsFinancial modeling, valuation, comparable & relative value analyses and market-specific analysisFacilitate and coordinate product group idea generation and solutions development across a broad platform of global capabilitiesDraft client pitches and marketing materials including M&A, syndicated bank financing, public/private debt & equity capital markets, and other internal documentation by coordinating internal and external resourcesAssist in financing structuring, underwriting transaction evaluation, preparation, due diligence and executionAssist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationships Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or EconomicsAt least one year of prior investment banking or similar professional experience focused on the oil and gas industry is required; some upstream technical experience is preferredKnowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets and risk & pricing analysisMust have experience in the general Energy sectorAptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideasCreativity and intellectual curiosityAbility to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environmentAdvanced proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft OfficeSeries 79 & 63 Greenhill & Co., Inc., part of Mizuho Americas, is focused on providing financial advice on significant mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, financings and capital raising to corporations, partnerships, institutions and governments globally.
