About the Role

Morgan Stanley’s leading Insurance Investment Banking coverage team in New York is seeking talented investment bankers at the Associate or Vice President level. This role focuses on Life/Annuity and P&C carriers, offering the opportunity to operate at the forefront of consolidation, capital optimization, and strategic transformation across the insurance industry.

Successful candidates will work with large, blue-chip insurers on complex transactions, including M&A, IPOs, private capital raises, debt financings, and other strategic advisory engagements. The team benefits from a consistent, high volume of executed deal flow, providing hands-on transaction exposure. You will collaborate closely with insurance firm C-suite executives to deliver best-in-class strategic advice and execution, leveraging Morgan Stanley’s global platform and deep relationships across insurance, asset management, and capital markets.

The role involves close collaboration with industry and product partners and offers a unique opportunity to build deep sector expertise, execution credentials, and long-term client relationships. Qualifications

  • Proven track record in Investment Banking, M&A, Corporate Finance, Strategy, or other finance-related fields
  • Successful experience dealing with complex transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of motivation, commitment, work quality, and attention to detail
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in small, high-performing teams
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting with senior clients
  • Strong capabilities in financial statement analysis, modeling, and valuation
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA and/or CFA designation a plus
  • Series licensing required or must be obtained
  • Experience in the Life/Annuity and/or P&C sector is an asset

Pay

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $225,000 per year for an Associate, and between $250,000 and $275,000 per year for a Vice President, at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs.
