Investment Banking Associate / Vice President – New York

About the role

The New York office of Morgan Stanley’s Banking Group is seeking Investment Banking Associates and Vice Presidents to join the firm. Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from various investment banking coverage teams and across industry sectors, and they will have the opportunity for placement into one of these investment banking groups.

Responsibilities

• Meet with representatives from various investment banking coverage teams and across industry sectors
• Work on executed deals across M&A and various industry sectors
• Deliver high quality advice to clients
• Think creatively on complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts, strategic advisory assignments and executions of public and private capital markets transactions

Requirements

• 3-6+ years of experience within the investment banking industry as an Associate or Vice President
• Proven track record working on executed deals across M&A and various industry sectors
• Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• Comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements
• Extraordinarily high level of motivation and commitment to working hard
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• An MBA, CA and/or CFA designation would be an asset
• Series licensing or must obtain

Benefits

• Base pay rate between $150,000 and $225,000 per year for an Associate
• Base pay rate between $250,000 and $275,000 per year for a Vice President
• Total compensation package includes commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs

Pay

• Base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis
