This role is within Santander CIB, which provides industry-leading support for corporate and institutional clients, delivering tailored services, products, and solutions including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), and Leveraged and Structured Finance.
We are seeking a Vice President in Investment Banking to support our Power & Utilities coverage group, focusing on Renewables. You will play a key leadership role in the origination and execution of complex transactions while developing relationships with key clients and driving new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination and lead execution of M&A Advisory transactions.
- Manage day-to-day deal processes, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
- Oversee the development and quality control of financial models and client materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on deal execution matters.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in collaboration with senior bankers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Analysts and Associates.
- Travel as requested by senior deal team members and/or clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or a related field (Required).
- 4+ years in Corporate Finance as an M&A Banker or Coverage Banker in the Power & Utilities – Renewables sector.
- Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Proven transaction execution experience in investment banking.
- Advanced technical and strategic advisory capabilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large amounts of information to develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to manage projects independently and assume a high level of responsibility.
- Ability to assess and mitigate reputational, operational, and credit risk.
- Experience with sell-side and buy-side merger and acquisition processes.
Qualifications
- Certifications: SIE, Series 79, and Series 63.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $275,000 USD annually.
