About the role

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily inventory operations to ensure accuracy, accountability, and efficiency across all warehouse and production areas. This role oversees cycle counts, monitors inventory transactions, investigates discrepancies, and supports continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily inventory control activities including cycle counts, audits, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical counts and ERP records.
  • Maintain and update part locations, cycle counts, and Kanban replenishment systems.
  • Carefully coordinate with receiving, shipping, and production departments to ensure timely and accurate material movement.
  • Train and guide inventory team members in proper counting, labeling, and data entry procedures.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variances.
  • Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and stock discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to minimize damage and obsolescence.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving inventory reduction, space utilization, and process optimization.
  • Enforce safety, 5S, and quality standards within all inventory areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years previous experience in an inventory control or warehouse supervisory role.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies a plus.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Able to interpret and analyze data to make sound decisions.
  • Capable of working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one preferred.

Pay

The salary for this position ranges from $82K to $87K per year. Freedman by Lippert determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Schedule

This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. Travel will be minimal and will be primarily local during the business day.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does have direct reports in the inventory control department.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
