Inventory Clerk I
About the Role
Responsible for ensuring that incoming materials are received, properly stored, and issued to end-users. Assures that Sales Orders and Stock Transfers are filled and shipped according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receives materials from Manufacturing and Receiving; issues materials from Stores to Manufacturing; and makes internal deliveries.
- Stages materials for Sales Orders and Stock Transfers; packages for shipment and boxes per SOPs or customer instructions.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipment of materials to customers.
- Performs cycle counts of active and non-nettable inventory as directed by Materials management.
- Ensures that inventory and cycle-counts are accurate.
- Exercise judgment, discretion, and tact in all business matters and relationships.
- Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
- Participates in and contributes to teamwork within the organization.
- Follows all quality and safety procedures, including those at customer sites if applicable, and abides by the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain clear and cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
- Self-starter, motivated, creative, flexible, self-confident, deadline-oriented, and able to multi-task.
- Good math skills to precisely measure, weigh, and count materials for accurate inventory.
- Ability to read Sales Orders, Stock Transfers, and Job Packets to pull required materials from stores.
- Able to work overtime and six days per week when required.
- Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including listening and speaking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop with quickly changing priorities and minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.

Qualifications
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from High School or that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.
Physical Demands
- 70% inside, open warehouse environment, and 30% outside-yard environment; temperatures range from very cold (20s) in winter to very hot (110+) in summer.
- Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection where required, and face shield while building crates and using packaging foam equipment.
- Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting, and pushing/pulling.
Work Environment
This position requires work in a factory or shop floor setting.
Pay
The targeted compensation range for this position is $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
