Inventory Clerk I

About the role

The Inventory Clerk manages the inventory for the company under the supervision of the Inventory Supervisor, displaying ownership and accountability for accurate inventory.

Responsibilities

• Pick and package material, complete documentation, monitor inventory for accuracy, and notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies or replenishment needs.
• Promote teamwork, cooperation, and commitment to "Total Customer Satisfaction" among team members.
• Pick and kit materials per job packet pick list or other authorized documents.
• Verify and maintain accuracy in quantity, description, location, labeling, and ESD-safe packaging when creating job kits.
• Locate completed job kits and documentation for transfer to appropriate locations in production.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, logistics, and other departments as needed.
• Process Inventory On Demand (IOD) transactions and delivery of requests.
• Perform cycle counts, scan job order documents, print labels, place received inventory in the appropriate location, process recal and return to stock inventory, and suggest and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow safety and housekeeping protocols to keep the area clean and orderly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an inventory or related role. Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Demonstrated experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated reliability and consistency in employment history. Experience using an ERP system. Inventory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with cycle counting and an understanding of FIFO.

Physical Demands

This position requires sustained physical activity throughout the workday. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand and walk; reach above shoulder level and at or below waist level; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders; push, pull, lift and carry objects weighing up to 10lbs, and use fine manipulation of hands. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms for pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 20lbs. The employee is occasionally required to drive and use hands and arms to push, pull, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs. The employee is required to use near vision to perform certain job functions and this role requires the ability to hear and understand verbal instructions. Employee must be able to work in an indoor environment with moderate noise levels.
