Responsibilities
- Hospital consultations across most subspecialties
- ICU and telemetry coverage
- Rotates every six weeks to cover daytime service (0800–1700, Monday to Sunday)
- MOCAP Level I on-call coverage (1700–0800, typically 4–5 calls per month and every 7th weekend)
- Opportunity to establish a community clinic for consults and follow-ups
- Participation in outpatient services provided by the Cardiology and Internal Medicine Rapid Access Clinic
Requirements
- Eligible for FRCPC (Internal Medicine)
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
- Strong General Internal Medicine experience
- Proficient in community ICU care, including intubation, central and femoral line insertion, chest tube placement, paracentesis, and lumbar puncture
- Additional skills such as point-of-care ultrasound, pacemaker interrogation, teaching, leadership, or administrative experience are considered assets
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates willing to establish a community clinic for consults and follow-ups.
