Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

• Hospital consultations across most subspecialties
• ICU and telemetry coverage
• Rotates every six weeks to cover daytime service (0800–1700, Monday to Sunday)
• MOCAP Level I on-call coverage (1700–0800, typically 4–5 calls per month and every 7th weekend)
• Opportunity to establish a community clinic for consults and follow-ups
• Participation in outpatient services provided by the Cardiology and Internal Medicine Rapid Access Clinic

Requirements

• Eligible for FRCPC (Internal Medicine)
• Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
• Strong General Internal Medicine experience
• Proficient in community ICU care, including intubation, central and femoral line insertion, chest tube placement, paracentesis, and lumbar puncture
• Additional skills such as point-of-care ultrasound, pacemaker interrogation, teaching, leadership, or administrative experience are considered assets
