INTERMEDIATE CLERK/CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

About the role

The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Intermediate Clerk vacancies related to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Consent Decree. The position involves performing specialized clerical duties and assisting with administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs full range of administrative functions of the day-to-day operations of the unit including highly specialized duties requiring specialized knowledge and skills such as creating Excel files to generate reports, data intricate data entries, and filing reports.
• Maintains a uniform workflow by determining priority on requests for information and completing rush assignments.
• Assists the unit by providing clerical support for assigned unit.
• Reviews documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance with legal and other requirements.
• Operates office machines such as personal computer, printers, telephones, fax machines, copy machines, etc., incidental to the performance of assigned duties.
• Demonstrates dependability and flexibility in meeting/scheduling needs of the unit including assignments and special project as assigned.
• Comply with confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Orders, maintains, and organize supplies and equipment for the use within unit.

Requirements

• Minimum Requirements:
• Option I: Six (6) months of office clerical experience in the service of the County of Los Angeles or in districts under the jurisdiction of the County.
• Option II: One (1) year of office clerical experience outside the service of the County of Los Angeles.
• Option III: A certificate or Associate of Arts degree in clerical procedures or office administration from an accredited college or university.
