About the role

As an Interior Cabinet Technician, you will fabricate complex, high-quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in world-class business aircraft. Primary functions include modifications, repair, refurbishment, and fabrication of aircraft cabinets. Daily tasks vary and are designated by the Team Leader overseeing the project.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft cabinets and related systems, including removal, installation, modification, re-laminating, veneering, or fabrication of new cabinets.
• Perform minor modifications and complete daily turnover sheets.
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases using basic computer skills.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
• Work independently when required.
• Communicate effectively in English (speaking, writing, reading).
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience levels:
  • Tech I: 0-2 years in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related field. Limited to no knowledge of the position; requires close supervision.
  • Tech II: 2-4 years in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related field. Considerable knowledge of the job; requires general supervision.
  • Tech III: 4-6 years in aviation, auto, RV, Marine, or related field. Full knowledge of the job; limited supervision required; can act as a trainer or mentor.
  • Master Tech: 6+ years in aviation interiors. Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of the job.
• Self-motivated team player able to perform in a fast-paced environment with specific deadlines and time constraints.
• Reliable attendance, including overtime and weekend assignments; must notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company safety rules.
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
• Assist in major modification work as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
• Repetitive physical motion with arms and hands, emphasizing grasping, feeling, and finger dexterity.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Climb ladders and stairs; work in small, restricted areas.

Mental Requirements

• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines, including OSHA and Hazmat.
• Work professionally with others.
• Read and comprehend various documents.
• Plan and organize procedures and operations.

Supervision

• Work under the supervision of an assigned Team Leader and Interior Management.
• May supervise other technicians in some capacity.
• Work with minimal supervision when required.

Working Conditions

• Majority of work performed in a hangar or shop environment.
• Occasional work outside on the ramp.
• Varied positions in and around the aircraft.

Equipment Used

• Personal hand tools (supplied by the mechanic).
• Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, and power drills.
• Computer, copy machine, and other office equipment.
