Responsibilities

  • Ensures consistent implementation of all EnvisionSmart™ systems as designed (Clinical, Academic, MEDS, Regulatory, Fiscal, Staff Training and Supervision, Corrective Action).
  • Ensures that the Melmark School meets all PDE and other relevant regulatory/licensing standards.
  • Responds to all requests for information from PDE, including upkeep and maintenance of the school license as an Approved Private School.
  • Works to achieve strategic plan goals for the Melmark School.
  • Assumes direct responsibility for the supervision, discipline, and evaluation of school personnel in regards to all Melmark policies and procedures, Melmark models of service delivery, work rules, and standards of professionalism.
  • Provides oversight of the IEP planning process, ensuring that high quality and thorough documents are prepared in a timely manner, including meeting notifications, annual IEP meetings, and quarterly progress reports.
  • Manages discharge and transition planning per regulations and protocols.
  • Ensures the quality of all IEP documents reflect the unique needs of each individual and meet all regulatory/licensing requirements for both content and timeframes.
  • Collaborates with Senior Director of Clinical Services to ensure that behavior support programs demonstrate least restrictive strategies, emphasize proactive skill development, functional communication training, match strategies according to functional assessment, and address positive behavior support variables (family involvement, interdisciplinary team, functional skill development, least restrictive), and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures the Melmark on-site training process is followed for new employees, including providing shadowed training as specified in the onsite training protocol. Training documentation is reviewed by the supervisor and filed in the permanent record, with appropriate quizzes and feedback tools attached.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing in all classrooms per each student’s IEP.
  • Follows up on staffing concerns in a timely manner and per Melmark policies and procedures.
  • Reviews Incident Reports, signs off, dates, and follows protocols as developed.
  • Reviews Protective Hold incidents for content and follow through (in regards to clinical integrity) and follows protocol as currently developed.
  • Ensures reportable incident notification occurs timely.
  • Supervises the Behavior Analysts, oversees the delivery of services within this position, and completes necessary training, supervision, and evaluation of these positions.
  • Ensures the training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development of all education employees aligns with the Melark Model of Training.
  • Provides Administrator on call support rotation on weekends, holidays.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education or Special Education, behavioral psychology, or an appropriate related field.
  • BCBA or BSL Certification required.
  • Special Educator, or Principal Certification/Supervisor of Special Education Certification preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet approved Melmark driver status.
  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in clinical service delivery and supervision within public or approved private school settings, and in implementing evidenced-based procedures for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviors.
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in program management, supervising, and training staff, skills in human resources, budget management, and running residential, educational, or clinical systems.
